Case report

These are some images of the multiple echogenic foci in the fetal gallbladder first diagnosed at 39 weeks of gestation. No other anomalies were seen. The baby was born at 41 weeks and the stones resolved spontaneously. A neonatal abdominal ultrasound examination performed at 24 hours of life revealed a normal gallbladder with no trace of stones or sludge.

Images 1, 2: 39 weeks of gestation; the images show transverse views of the fetal abdomen with gallstones within the gallbladder (arrow on image 1).
