Case report:

28-year-old patient, first pregnancy, was referred at 22 weeks for initial diagnosis of a "placental cystic mass" about 3 cm in size. Differential diagnosis was old hematoma or fibrin deposit. For the following examination, we found out that heterogenous mass closed to the placenta, with bony elements inside, some of which resembled vertebrae. The course of the pregnancy was complicated because of preeclampsia that forced to delivery at 36 weeks (2500g) by C-Section, due to developing HELLP syndrome. The Doppler of the fetus was always very good, the fetus did not show any sign of cardiac failure.
