This is a 27-year-old woman, with unremarkable past obstetrical history, scanned at 14.2th week of gestational age. The ultrasound revealed a defect of the fetal sacrum (spina bifida) and massively dilated urinary bladder with distend abdominal wall and compressed thorax. The findings were consistent with urethral obstruction due to the urethral agenesis. The amount of the the amniotic fluid was normal as the scan was performed during early pregnancy. Postnatal investigation confirmed the diagnoses.
